Experimental Study on Hemopoietic of Anabolic Steroid

Abstract
The liemopoietic effects of anabolic steroid (duraboliny inthe female albino rats was studied with the following tesults:
(1) Control rags receiving 0.2in1 of ai¢¥achis oil weekly by intramuscular injection. for five times exhibited no significanC changes in hemoglobin, reticulocyte, neutrophil as well as platelet before and after experiments.
(2) In rats administered durabolin intramuscularly at 5mg/kg of body weight weekly for five times, a significant rise of hemoglobin concentration was observed whereas no noticeabl changes were found in reticulocyte, neutrophil and platelet before and after experiments. Also no appreciable differences were noted in marrow erythroid series and RBC o9Fe uptake as compared with those of the control group.
(3) In two groups of rats treated with an intramuscular injection of durabolin at 25mg/kg and 50 mg/kg of body weight weekly for five times, si~;gnificant increases in hemoglobin, reticulocyte, neutrophil and platelet accompanied- by an enhancement of marrow erythroid series as weIl as RBC ¢¥~9Fe uptake. However, the data of two groups showed no remarkable differences.
(4) In rats given a singfe intramuscular injection of durabolin at 25mg/Itg, of body weight hemog-Tobin reached a maximum after 4 weeks while reticulocyte, marrow erytlx>:oid series and RBC a9Fe uptitke reached their peak by 3 weeks,
(5) Rats injected durabolin intramusculaly at 25mg/kg; of body weight weekly for five times after a total 3.0 ml of b¢¥vod load keen drawn, exhibited earlier recovery of hemoglobin as .well as greaner increases of reticulocyte, marrow erythroid series and -RBC o9Fe uptake as compared with the; control group given arachis oil, instead of SuralSolin after blood had been drawn.
